UK company creates graphene heating system

UK company Xefro has created a graphene-based heating system that can reduce energy costs up to 70 percent. The product, gRAD, uses graphene as a heating element. The incredibly high surface area of graphene makes it an ideal infrared emitter and therefore gRAD does not need to generate hot surface temperature in order to work – making it much safer than convection heat sources. According to the company gRAD heats up to the required temperature quickly, using up to 70% less energy compared with other heating systems. To put this into perspective, a 10% improvement in heating efficiency would save the average UK household £77 per year. With savings of 70% gRAD could save approximately £538 per year just on heating your property.
