Angstron Materials Inc., announced today that it has secured $5 million in capital to increase manufacturing capacity for its single and few-layer graphene materials and bring key technologies – like its thermal management products – to market. The company began seeking Pre-Series A funding in late 2014. Its investment partner – a key player in advanced materials and consumer electronics – brings extensive business and industry expertise to the table along with a portfolio of major customers and collaborators.

“The capital will allow us to expand our business and product development teams to fast track commercialization of critical products such as our thermal management materials,” says Ian Fuller, Angstron’s vice president for business development and engineering. “We are also actively engaged in securing Series A funding which we expect to close by the end of the year. These two rounds of financing will boost our global reach for a wide range of our graphene technologies and materials.”

Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, Angstron Materials is the world’s largest producer of graphene materials and a leader in graphene utilization and application. The graphene manufacturer is ISO 9001:2008 certified for full-scale graphene production. An annual production capacity of 300 tons supports a range of product development efforts lead by customers from 38 countries and dedicated to commercializing Angstron’s raw materials and graphene-enhanced products. Angstron’s internal graphene-enhanced products and technologies are separated into five distinct portfolios: thermal management materials, nanocomposites, energy storage systems, paints and coatings, and transparent conductive films.
